Every walk-in is screened for an appointment. All out of town clients will be seen.

Who We Are

Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC) is a statewide, nonprofit law that provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income people in order to ensure equal access to justice and to remove legal barriers to economic opportunity.  The legal staff of Legal Aid of NC - Wilson Office provides legal assistance in civil matters to eligible, low-income clients who have problems with their basic needs and live in the six-county area surrounding Wilson, NC:

Please note that Legal Aid of NC (LANC) does not provide legal assistance via E-mail. Rather, please telephone or come to the LANC office to request assistance.

When a client is deaf or needs an interpreter, he or she is scheduled for an appointment.

Income Guidelines

There are some limited exceptions. Please call the Legal Aid of NC office in Wilson to see if you are eligible for our services.

Sometimes clients give a donation when we prepare their wills, etc., but it is not required.

Your family's income should be at or below the following percentage of the federal poverty level 125
