Who We Are

Welcome to the 26th Judicial District SelfServe Center website.  The SelfServe Center was created to assist individuals who wish to represent themselves in family law matters, or seek information about family law issues.  This website contains forms and instructions in the following areas  Absolute Divorce (uncontested)  Child Support, Visitation, and/or Child Custody Domestic Violence Modification of Child Support, Visitation, and/or Child Custody To bring a Motion For Visitation before the court in a Child Support case Violation of a Court Order for Child Support, Visitation, and/or Child Custody Limited Driving Privileges Small Claims Name Change We also offer lawyer referral information; legal clinics to educate individuals about our forms and instructions; a list of community resources; a legal glossary to help litigants understand the terminology associated with the courts and the forms offered here; information about the 26th Judicial District Family Courts; and the hours, location, and important telephone numbers of court staff and court related agencies.  The SelfServe Center is located in Room 212 of the Civil Courts Building, 800 E. Fourth Street, Charlotte, North Carolina  28202. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  To reach the center by telephone please dial (704) 417-1816. Closed on state holidays. The SelfServe Center is a public service of the 26th Judicial District.

Interpreters are sometimes provided to interpret spoken English to Spanish and spoken Spanish to English. We find our interepreters through the State court interpreters management program.
